Post possible mistakes

I was looking at the US Stryker's and noticed that both the 12.7mm and 7.62mm machine guns are listed as range 20. is that correct?

and also the Gepard and generic twin 35mm AA gun is listed as Pen 7 Rof 4. is that suppose to be the reverse?

in helicopters the American ch-57 is 140 points for a 20 move, cap 6, machine gun armed heli while the ch-47 is 154 points for a move 22, cap 3, no gun chopper.. something seems wrong that 2 inches extra movement with half capacity and no weapons should run an extra 14 points.

and for the sake of not creating another thread, can you tell me what the diffrence is between category 1, 2 and 3 Russian infantry? are they army, airborne, marine? Just which should I be using if playing a modern Russian army.

thanks as always.

Looks like there is an error on the M1134 Stryker AT. The range should be 6, not 20.

No, that's correct. 35-40mm AA guns don't fire as fast as 20-25mm weapons.

in helicopters the American ch-57 is 140 points for a 20 move, cap 6, machine gun armed heli while the ch-47 is 154 points for a move 22, cap 3, no gun chopper.. something seems wrong that 2 inches extra movement with half capacity and no weapons should run an extra 14 points.

The numbers are correct. Remember that double capacity also means you can lose twice as many troops if the fragile helo is shot down. So larger capacity is not necessarily a virtue in the game. Like trucks, transport helicopters primary tactical value is simply in enhancing the mobility of what they carry, so the higher speed of the CH-47 gets it a slightly higher rating. Check B.9, and you'll see that the helicopter point ratings are kept very simple.

Readiness and equipment. I'd have to look up the exact definitions, but Category 1 troops are the front line units with modern equipment and approximately full strength. Cat 2 are units that can be mobilized in fairly short order (a month or two) and will have most of their equipment and personnel, but are not as well trained and the equipment may be older. Cat 3 are the lowest readiness: reserves requiring a long time to mobilize and needing additional equipment and personnel to round them out before being combat-worthy.

Paul
